I am running into an issue where we have an Exchange 2010 room list with about 125 members. It appears as though that may be too many members as Outlook 2010 can not display it and I receive an error of "Suggestions are not provided because there
are too many attendees" error. If I put in a few as a test there is no problem. Is there a suggested maximum number of members for a room list ? If I have to I will divide it up into smaller lists. Just want to know if there is an official maximum.

ECP + res://ieframe.dll/ "Page cannot be displayed"
Hello...
I have an Exchange 2013cu3 member server running on windows server 2012r1 Standard OS.
After installing some patches I noticed that when I try to open the url
https://EXCHSRV/ECP?ExchClientVer=15
I get an error in IE as "res://ieframe.dll/" and in the middle it reads "Page cannot be displayed"
I tried un-installing the latest patches installed but still no go.
I tried re-created the ECP virtual directory but still can't get past this error.
I really don't want to have to perform a disaster-recovery as I'm sure it's something very basic, but for the life of me I can't seem to figure it out..
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The strange thing is that it seems to work fine on "Google Chrome", but from within Internet Explorer, I need to type the FQDN that matches the SSL Certificate as in "Https://mail.mydomain.com/ECP"
The above URL in IE works but not if i use "https://EXCHSRV/ECP?ExchClientVer=15"

Event 7031, Service Control Manager, The Microsoft Mailbox Assitants Service terminated unexpectedly
I have received the following event ID on and Exchange 2010 SP1 mail box server.
Event 7031, service control manager.
The microsoft exchange mailbox assistants service terminated unexpectdly. It has done this 1 time (s). The following corrective action will be takein in 5000 milliseconds: Restart the service.
I am look for a potential cause for this and a resolution if one is known.

How to reset Exchange 2013 ECP Admin Page broken
Ok Folks,
Originally I was getting access to the http://localhost/ecp page but now when I type this URL I get the OWA page and only after flushing the cache on the browser I can see the Exchange Admin login page. But then I try logging in and I get a Page Not Found error!!
Is there a way to reset the IIS ecp virtual directory or perhaps when I set the Application Pool items to ApllicationPoolIdentity which BPA was compalining about it broke then. To be honest I think it may also be a certificate problem, Im kinda grasping at straws here and need to know how to reinstall the ECP component??
Ill stop my rambling and let an expert hold my hand please!!

Undo ManagementRoleAssignment cmdlet?
I followed cmdlets that are required to get the GFI MailArchiver Mailbox Folder Structure Retrieval working with no problem. I was successful with their instructions.
However, one of "GFI's" techs said I could use anybody. So I chose a random user named say “Jane Doe” now “Jane” has administrative permission to all mailboxes. How do I reverse their commands so I can start over?
Their instructions show to do the following;
- Run the following cmdlet:
- New-ManagementScope -name "MAUMPolling" -recipientrestrictionfilter {recipienttype -eq "UserMailbox"}
- Once the above is complete, run the following cmdlet (the account used in this step cannot have domain administrator rights):
- New-ManagementRoleAssignment -name "MAUMPollingRA" -role:applicationimpersonation -user "masynch@domain.com" -customrecipientwritescope "MAUMpolling"
Example of what I ran: New-ManagementRoleAssignment -name "MAUMPollingRA" -role:applicationimpersonation -user "Jane.Doe@mydomain.com" -customrecipientwritescope "MAUMpolling"

Exchange 2013 Can't move Transaction logs
Hi Community,
I try on our Exchange Server 2013 to move some Mailbox Database transaction logs (away from C: to bigger and quicker space), but it seems to be a forgotten feature. I could not find it in the new EAC, nor is there any Management Shell commandlet which seems to do the job.
It was no problem in old Exchange versions and of course it is possible to enter the transaction log file path for a new database. But deleting the old database and creating a new one just to put the transaction logs from C: to D: is "uncomfortable" at least.
Has anybody any idea how to transfer the log files more comfortable?

Exchange 2013 Multi-tenant contact administration
Hi everybody!
Searched high and low, but couldn't find an answer.
I have deployed multi-tenancy Exchange as a service provider, and will look into self service portals later.
I'm currently developing all the powershell scripts needed to manage the multi tenant environment.
Question arrises:
How do you handle contacts in a multi-tenant environment?
Since a SMTP address can only be used once in an Exchange Organization, what if 2 tenants need the same contact?
- Use customattributes and filter on that? Than what if I want to use the multi-tenant AD for different purposes later?
- Use custom DACLs on the OU or contacts?
- Any other ideas?
Of course I started with
http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/02/20/hosting-and-multi-tenancy-guidance-for-exchange-server-2013-now-available.aspx but there's no mention of this issue.

Exchange 2013 CU1 - Error about MsMpSvc not found on computer '.'.

I have installed Exchange 2013 CU1 in my home lab and while everything seem to work normally I have many errors about MsMpSvc not found on computer '.'.
This is the exact error that I can see in the Event Viewer:
Maintenance workitem "FEP.Maintenance.Workitem" (ID: 29) has failed. Health Manager has detected it is either set to run once and failed, or has been failing consistently. Maintenance workitem failure could cause monitoring gap and should be investigated. Single User Unable to Receive External Email
I have ONE user, I repeat one user not receiving external emails. Al other users receive just fine. User has no rules created, no other devices conflicting. I have been looking at this for three days. Any takers???????????????

CAS Server high CPU load and disconnects
Issue on one of our CAS Servers, clients disconnect and some bad events in the Cas server events log.
Exchange systems: We got 2 Mailbox Servers they carry both 6 Databases Also 2 Cas Servers behind a load balancer.
Hardware: CAS1: ESX VM – 4 CPU 16GB MEM
CAS2: ESX VM - 4 CPU 16GB MEM
CAS1 ON active HOST09: HP Proliant BL490c G6, 8 CPU, 98GB
CAS2 ON active HOST08: HP Proliant BL490c G6, 8 CPU, 98GB
During the day we get very often clients calling about their outlook say’s trying to connect at that moment we look at our Cas servers and one of them spikes till a 100% Cpu Load for about 10mins.
Cas1 is running normal without any issue but Cas2 uses high CPU load for the above timeframe.
When looking at the RPC connections
CAS1 holds about ~ 512 conss
CAS2 holds about ~ 200 conns
(so you should expect Cas1 to have a heavier load but that is not the case )
Event logs from Cas2 show the following error’s
- Application Log:
EVENT ID 1, MS Exchange Auto discover
EVENT 4002, MS Exchange Availability
- System Log:
EVENT: 10009, DistributedCom
Warning: EVENT 5010, WAS
We did a lot of research to these events, but nothing helps.
Any suggestions for us, if something is not clear please let me know I will try to specify a bit more.

Renamed Microsoft Exchange System Objects
I accidentally renamed Microsoft Exchange System Objects. I noticed this a few minutes later and named it back and things seem fine, but is there anything else I need to do to recover from my overly fast fingers?

MSExchange Common Event 6003 (MSExchangeHMHost)
After installing Exchange Server 2013 Service Pack 1 I'm getting 6003 error in the event log:
MSExchangeHMHost: Exchange failed to create the log directory D:\MonitoringDiagnosticLogs\MSExchangeHMHost ...
I can't believe it but see for yourself: this "D:\..." path is HARDCODED to "\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Bin\Microsoft.Exchange.Monitoring.ActiveMonitoring.Local.Components.dll" !!!
How could it be and how to deal with this error!?

Move mailbox from a database to another
HI ..
We have exchange 2013 server deployed on a windows 2012 machine .we have 300 mailbox on that server .
all mailboxes on one database DB1 , now we added another HDD with 1TB size .
I created DB2 on the new HDD and local moved the mailboxes to the new database (DB1 mailboxes to DB2).
all mailboxes moved successfully !
now the size of the drive hosting DB1 has not changed (not decreased) ! while the size of the drive hosting DB2 seems to have all the mailboxes .
how can I reduce the size of the drive hosting DB1 ?

Not able to open exchange toolbox
I am using Windows server 2012 and Exchange 2013.
When i try to open the exchange toolbox i get a error

Correct cmdlet for moving my database/log files?
Currently, my databases/logs reside on an external USB 1TB drive (D:\Mailbox\Mail400).
That being said, I need to move both database/logs to the C:\ drive
Database - "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Mailbox\Mail400"
Logs- "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Mailbox\Mail400\Logs\".
Is this the correct cmdlet I would use to accomplish this move?
Move-DatabasePath "Mail400" -EdbFilePath "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Mailbox\Mail400\Mail400.edb" -LogFolderPath "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Mailbox\Mail400\Logs\"
I realize the best practice is to separate the database file and transaction logs onto separate disks but that isn't an option for us at this time.

HealthManagerObserverMonitor monitoring non-existant server.
Hi all,
I have recently removed two Exchange 2013 CU1 servers (running the Client Access role only). I removed them by uninstalling Exchange and then removing the computer object from Active Directory. No errors were reported during the uninstall, and Get-ExchangeServer no longer shows the servers. After removing the two servers, I rebooted every other Exchange Server (all 2013 CU1) in the domain.
Despite removing these servers, it looks as though the Exchange Health Manager is still looking for them:

Alternative method to move mailbox
We are migrating our Exchange from 2007 to 2013. We use migration under Exchange Admin Center. Most migrations work fine. However, we have 2 or 3 mailboxes keep giving us an error and can't migrate them. Even we allow 50 errors, these mailboxes has just one error, but can't move them to the new exchange server. Do we have other options to move them?

Finding out how much space a user would free up archiving their mailbox
Hello all,
Here is what I am trying to do. I have a user that has 15 GB mailbox. They are having problems syncing their mailbox with their phone because of the size. What I want to do is create a powershell scripts that would allow me to report how much space they would be at if they archived from middle of last year. A scenario that would show them where their mailbox would be if the archived it from a certain point. This way I can show them the space they would free up running an archive.
