MailboxTransport health set unhealthy (MailboxDeliveryAvailabilityMonitor)

Hi,

I'm getting the following error:

MailboxTransport health set unhealthy (MailboxDeliveryAvailabilityMonitor) - The mail delivery smtp probe failed 5 times over 15 minutes.

I have checked server health and indeed one Probe/Monitor is unhealthy:

I have tried the following command:

Invoke-MonitoringProbe MailboxTransport\MailboxDeliveryAvailability -Server mailbox1.contoso.com | Format-List
As stipulated in the article "Troubleshooting MailboxTransport Health Set"

But it returns an error:

WARNING: Failed to find the probe result for invoke now request id 9c486bb5336b4b06bb11cf2071dbac48 and probe
workdefinition id 423.

I have restarted the Health Manager service but this didn't help.

I'm running Exchange 2013 CU8

I read in this article that the MailboxDeliveryAvailability probe is now obsolete. Does it mean I can safely create a monitoring override?

How do you check the GAL or OAB that a s/mime certificate is there?

We are moving to office365 and have dirsync set to sync s/mime cert.  We are finding some users it doesn't work.  My specific question is, how can you look at either the live GAL or OAB that an s/mime certificate is present? I beleive the s/mime cert is in the GAL and OAB as if I go offline, and if I try and sent an encrypted message to someone (after verifying that person is not in my outlook contacts hence I don't have their s/mime cert) I'm able to do it.  If my PC is offline and I'm not talking to AD, i have to be getting the persons s/mime cert from my OAB how else would I get it? So, again how can I view and verify it's there?

Delagate Access question

When someone leaves the company, we temporarily allow a person (supervisor) to access that older email In EAC, under mailbox delegation, I add the person required to that particular mail box.

But people I do this for, when they click on the mailbox link in their outlook (2010) client, they get a error, "unauthorized to access folders.."

Can anyone tell me why and a work around to stop this? Some people it appears to work fine (as it should), other not.
I've tried to compare the people effected in AD and they have the same rights.

Exchange 2013 MSExchangeFastSearch Event id 1009

Hello,

We have been running Exchange 2013 CU7 with DAG since early this year and no issues.  Last weekend I upgraded to CU10 and now I am seeing errors on one of the server where all the copies remain passive. 

Usually I have seen this event if before when we failover and restart the server but now it just comes while everything running normally.  This error message has this line "The Content Submission Service returned failure for the document: Document timeout expired" which is different than those message which I see during failover.  I restart Microsoft Exchange Search service and everything again goes to normal then after some time again I see this error.

Get-MailboxDatabaseCopyStatus shows "ContentIndexerrormessage" "Failed an Internal error occurred for the database or its index".  

This occurred on different database sometimes multiple databases.  Restart of search service fixes it for some time.

I am aware of this link but my error message is slightly different as I mentioned above and restart of search fixes it for a short time.

Exchange Server 2013 stops working

 I have a problem with Exchange  Server 2013, It totally stopped working.

First, It appears this error 15021 in the event log and the Localhost\ecp. I couln't login at all.

I tried to delete the certificates from 

netsh http delete sllcert. ... but I couln't add them. I went to check the SII -> Sites -> Default sites -> Bindings. It appears like this 

and the SII->Sites->ExchangeBackEnd-> bindings it appears like this

Now when I check the netsh

I can find many errors in localhost such as these

Please help me as soon as possible??

Running Exchange 2013 for On-Premise Exchange and configure for Hybrid to Office 365.

All user mailbox resided in office 365 but I have to edit account information using on premise Exch2013

In our organization we allow a person who gets married and wish to change their display name, login id and email address. The Display name and alias/login id is change by our FIM team.  

My question:

what would be the best way (Best Practices) to change the user SMTP address to the new alias in Exchange 2013 and how do I update thex500 and x400 address to reflect the change in the user's new alias?

what is HTTP redirect method in Exchange autodiscover

Hi there,

I'm not sure whether I understand this concept properly.

In Exchange autodiscover scenario, there are multipe ways by which an outlook client locates the autodiscover endpoint, one of the method is HTTP redirect.

Can anyone explain me in simplest way to make me understand this, what is mean by HTTP reidrect and in what scenarios this will be used?

1. we have exchange 2013 server. able to telnet serverip/name 465,25,587

I have configured mange engine service desk outgoing setting

 mail server :abc.co.in

reply address: xyz@abc.co.in

protocol: SMTPS/SMTP

Port: 25/465/587

TLS enabled: Yes/No

requires authentication

username:abc\xyz

password:***

I tried all combination but getting error When i tried to reply from manageengine service desk getting error sending notification failed

- So if the monitor doesn't exist...how can it be reported as unhealthy??

Any ideas how to solve this piece of meat?

new-pssession with combination of https and kerberos - access is denied

In this case a FIM 2010 Server open a new pssession to an Exchange 2013 server by using an URI including https and Kerberos as authentication method.  

$cred=Get-Credential

The combination of Kerberos and 'http://<HOSTNAME>/Powershell'  works.

And also the combination of 'https://<HOSTNAME>/Powershell' and basic authentication.

The combination of https and Kerberos will bring access denied if I change 'WindowsAuthitication' of 'PowerShellVirtualDirectory' from 'False' to 'True'.

According to this blog 'no authentication is configured by default.' So I had to enable basic authentication first:

so how can i avoid that?

Multiple Email addresses on one account

I have one MSN account with multiple email addresses associated with it.

I just updated my automatic payment info for the MSN service but the system keeps sending notifications to my wife's email address that her email service will be terminated because they can not charge the credit card.  Here is the note sent to her:

We have been unable to charge the credit card for your subscription. If you purchased other Microsoft services with this card, those services may also be affected. To prevent any service interruptions, please update your payment information. 

How do I make sure all the emails associated with my account (which has valid payment info) are noted as in good standing??

disabled account's disconnectreason is null

I disabled or removed one exchange account and want to reconnect it,

after update-storemailboxstate -database comman on the mailbox , i find the key of disconnectreason is null, and the account can not be find in ECP.

Is there any other method to change the disconnectreason ,or reconnect it

Question about removing my archive databases.

I am using Exchange 2010 but could not easily find the category for Exchange 2010. 

I have two old archive databases that I created 3 years ago in hopes that my users would start using the archiving functionality in Exchange 2010.  We tinkered with it but it never caught on and my users still backup email to pst files.  Anyway I want to remove both archive databases.  When I look at the EMC I don't have anyone that is assigned an archive database.  I can't see where they are being used at all.  I used to back them up using Windows Server Backup but I don't back them up any more because they are not being used.  Anyway I want to remove the archive databases.  What do I need to check or verify before I remove them?  thanks
