Multiple Quarantine ActiveSync Alerts

$

Hi, we've recently enabled the ActiveSync quarantine on our devices to try and control which devices are allowed to sync, etc.

We have set email alerts to go to our IT distribution group, which works. However we are receiving multiple emails for a single device, roughly once an hour until it's approved/declined. This can be rather annoying when it occurs at the end of a working day as it means getting bombarded by the emails until they're dealt with the next morning.

Is this by design, as in everytime the device connects to try and sync it generates a quarantine message, or should this not be happening?

Thanks

Group ownership of groups

I have been trying to work with group ownership but I seem to be missing something.

Group A owned by Group B - I would like a group to be owned by members of another group.  I have added group B as an owner on group A.  I have added group B to the Recipient Management role.

As a member of group B I see the "distribution groups I own" section in OWA but there's nothing in it.

I've also tried setting a group which is owned by itself, so members of the group can manage it.  That has the same result, I see the section in OWA but there are no groups listed.

If I assign the roles/permissions to individuals it works but I'm trying to avoid the extra admin that causes.

Am I doing it wrong?

Thanks.

The WinRM client received an HTTP status code of 403 from the remote WS-Management service. (remote management)

Hi Experts,

I hope you could me me to solve issue with remote administration of new Exchange 2010 environment. Environment is based on 2008 R2 Servers, and having 3 CAS servers (STD version). In all 3 CAS servers there are separate virtual directories for internal and external OWA users. PowerShell virtual directory is only in internal (Default Web Site)

When I am trying to run EMC or EMS remotely, I got 50% of tryings the message:

"VERBOSE: Connecting to <server name>  Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : The WinRM client received an HTTP status code of 403 from the remote WS-Management service. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic. "

When running EMC or EMS on Exchange servers, there are no problems.

The only solution for this i have found is the SSL ebnabled for powershell directory in IIS, which I have disabled (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2276957/fi). I have also recreated the powershell virtual directories with no luck.

Any clues, what to try next?

Configuring AntiVirus/Antispam in Edge2013***

In our environment we have placed an Edge2013 , now wanted to configure default Anitvirus / Antispam in Edge to avoid SPAMs.

We do not have any 3rd party Anitvirus / Antispam tool to install in Edge.

Note:Recently had SPAM attack [ SPAM mails/Attachements ] [Enabled anti-spam functionality on Mailbox servers].

Please help me out to do the configuration.

Delegate permissions

"User A" is having an issue with his mail.  I logged in to Exchange ecp, Gave myself delegate permissions to his mail, opened my mail and took care of his issue.  I went back to ecp removed myself and then restarted outlook and I still have access to his mail, cannot remove it from my list, Can see all his mail.  I ran Get-MailboxFolderPermission -Identity "usera" and only his secretary shows up.

How can I remove myself from his mail?  I don't want to see his mail.

Connection Logging

I come from a domino environment, where the all activity is scrolling on a console in real time, so you can see errors and trouble shoot them (and logs if needed). In Exchange this is not the case and you have to choose amongst 100 of txt files to find your issue, let alone which one of these you use....

I'm trying to find logging when one external server tries to send mail to an exchange server and exchange will not accept it.

I can telnet from that external server to the exchange box and using telnet send commands and it works, but I do not know where this logging is kept for server to server communications. I found where successful email communications are at: "TransportRoles\Logs\FrontEnd\ProtocolLog\SMTP Recieve", but where is it for server to server communications?

Thank you.

Brett

EMS - running powershell on mailboxes with a field value...

Hello...

How do I user a OR operand with powershell and EMS..?
I would like to check if customAttribute10 does not contain "Terminated", "Forward", "System".

I just don't know how to fit it here. I can filter by one, but not by three separate strings.

get-mailbox -ResultSize Unlimited | Where-Object {$_.customAttribute10 -notLike "*erminat*"}  | Fl DisplayName, PrimarySMTPAddress,CustomAttribute10

I use this attribute to determine for reports etc.. if account have been terminated, forwarded or it's a system type account.
once forwarding is no longer required, it's change to terminated....

Thank you

High CPU - ParserServer.exe

High Everyone,

We recently migrated from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. Around 9:00 every morning, we are seeing CPU utilization go to 100% for between 2 and 10 minutes. We monitor processes during this time and it is parserserver.exe that is the culprit. We see an instance for the 4 DB's that reside on each server. The rest of the day the servers run normally between 30-50% CPU utilization. During this time when the CPU's are pegged, we have some client connectivity issues.

We are running Exchange 2013 SP1 with CU7

We have provided Perfmon information to Microsoft but wondered if anyone else has run into this?

https://jaapwesselius.com/2015/07/02/exchange-2013-hybrid-prerequisites-part-i/

If I 've one three accept domain , I need purchase minimize 1 certificate with four SANs name certificate for Hybrid?

mail.contoso.com

autodiscover.contoso.com

autodiscover.fabrikam.com

autodiscover.redmond.com

or three accept domain , I can keep use root domain certificate 1 certificate with 2 SANs certificate?

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh563848(v=exchg.150).aspx

The following table outlines the minimum suggested FQDNs that should be included on certificates configured for use in a hybrid deployment.

Service Suggested FQDN Field

Primary shared SMTP domain

contoso.com

Subject name

Autodiscover

Label that matches the external Autodiscover FQDN of your Exchange 2013 Client Access server, such as autodiscover.contoso.com

Subject alternative name

Transport

Label that matches the external FQDN of your Edge Transport servers, such as edge.contoso.com

Subject alternative name

I want to know the minimize charge for public certificate for one SMTP domain or multiple SMTP domain when running hybrid, I don't have EDGE server.

Thanks.

Set SCL value for e-mail with some phrase in subject

Hi everybody,

We use anti-spam filter for exchange. It marks email (add to subject some phrase). But some e-mails arrive to mail-box not to junk folder.

I need to set SCL to XY for all messages that had *** SPAM *** in the subject.

Is it possible?

Thanks for answer.

Best regards.

How to view exact replication schedule between mailbox servers ?

Kindly correct me if i am wrong as per my knowledge we use AD siteLink cost to calculate exact duration so as in when changes shall get reflected from one server to another within AD Sites. Is there any exchange specific cmdlet that can show us exact replication schedule for servers with in same site and across the sites in an organization ? Say I create a mailbox for user in site 'A' on server_1 , when shall i expect to see the mailbox being reflected on server_2 within same site 'A'  and on server_3 on another site named 'B' ?

Searching mailboxes

I would like to search using powershell all mailboxes in my Exchange 2010 databases for emails where the from field is an internal user but the reply field does not match the from field.  Those emails that are found are moved to another mailbox and/or deleted.

Here is the scenario

You receive an email from an internal user to perform a task, however when you reply to the email you reply to a different email address then you received it from.
