Our district recently migrated 1600 users from a legacy Exchange server to Exchange 2013 SP1. The general users only had 5MB as the send / receive quota. During the migration, we noticed that the users who were at or exceeded the quota lost their Inbox, Deleted Items, Sent Items. However, they were able to locate and recover them from the Recover Deleted Items folder.
The Exchange 2013 databases offer them considerably more space and their limits have been increased to a 100MB quota. We can restore the missing items from Recover Deleted Items. However, at various times throughout the day, those same user's folders continue to delete, without any user intervention. They recover them again, only to see the server delete them again, despite the fact that they have enough storage.
There is nothing to discern in any of the event logs about what is causing this. The times of the deletion seem to consistent as well, 8:30, 1:00, and 3:30pm. We have found the only way to correct this is to restore the deleted items, move them to a PST, disable the e-mail account, recreate it, and then restore contents from the PST.
This is affecting a couple hundred users and we cannot find any suggestions.
Cmdlet New-MailboxExportRequest is not recognize cmdlet in Exchange 2013 SP1
How can i do export mailbox to pst file in exchange 2013 SP1?
Hello,
I have four public folders that are spawning a replicaiton event error every 5 minutes.
Here is the error message:
Event 3092, MSExchangeIS Public Store
Error 1129 occurred while processing a replication event.
Folder: (7-1A9D6) IPM_SUBTREE\"PF Name"\2006 Emails\0206\Invitations
I then have three other folders with the same issue.I have found the following article with a recommended fix.
It recommends this:
This will add replica of public folders on Exchange Server 2003 to Exchange Server 2010. This is the simplest way to add replica of all PFs to Exchange 2010 PF database.
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Scripts>.\AddReplicaToPFRecursive.ps1 -TopPublicFolder "\" -ServerToAdd "exchange2010"
Currently the environment is Exchange 2010 SP1
I have three Mail Box servers and the primary holds the main Public Folder data base and the secondary holds the back up public folder data base.
Should this command be run on the server where the main on the back up Public Folder data base lives.
Also in the command .\AddReplicaToPFRecursive.ps1 -TopPublicFolder "\" -ServerToAdd "exchange2010" where it states "exchange2010" I would imagine this is where I would enter the name of the server that this should run against.
Thanks

Hi,
I would like to check how to prevent duplicate resource booking in exchange 2013. I tried simulating booking one meeting room using user A at a specified timing and date. Then another user B tried booking the same room with same time and date and it allows it to go through. I already uncheck this option "Allow repeating meetings" in the properties of that meeting room.
Hi,
On exchange Server 2013, i am trying to find whether public folder mailboxes or public folders exists in an organization without running powershell cmdlets.(may be from active directory).
On earlier exchange servers like exchange server 2012, we can find the public folder database from ADSIEdit.msc.
As there is no public folder database on exchange server 2013. We have mailbox databases for public folder mailboxes on exchange 2013. We can find the entry of mailbox database in ADSIEdit.msc @CN=Mailbox Database 1260218139,CN=Databases,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=First Organization,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=Dimain,DC=com.
Is there any property mailbox database in ADSIEdit.msc, through which we can know that whether public folder mailboxes present in organization?
There is one property of Mailbox Database in ADSIEdit i.e. "msExchDefaultPublicFolderMailbox".Can anyone tell me its usage? Its current vale is NOT-SET in my environment.
Is there any way through which we can find the whether public folders are present or not without running powershell command?
Thanks

Hi,
Several (most) of the services on our Exchange server don't return a valid response when querying their "health check" URL.
These are OK:
- /ecp/healthcheck.htm (200 OK)
- /owa/healthcheck.htm (200 OK)
- /powershell/healthcheck.htm (200 OK)
But these fail with an instantly dropped connection:
- /autodiscover/healthcheck.htm
- /ews/healthcheck.htm
- /mapi/healthcheck.htm
- /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync/healthcheck.htm
- /oab/healthcheck.htm
- /rpc/healthcheck.htm
There are no errors or warnings noted in the event logs, and all services work normally for all users, but I don't see the failed requests in IIS' logs.
What can be causing this?
Thanks!
Rich
Hi,
Exchange 2010 has been installed in our organisation a few years ago, and is running fine. Exchange was installed with an account with enterprise and schema admin rights. I have just found out that this account still has those rights, I think that this isn't necessary, and is in fact een security risk. I think that membership of Exchange Organization Administrators and Organization Management plus domain admin rights is enough. Am I right or does this account really need enterprise and schema admin rights?
Hi to all,
i need to remove mailbox photo for a user and i have no success.

Hi,
I made a mistake and applied a new E-Mail Address Policy.
Ot contained
g%1s@domain.com instead of %1g%s@domain.com (carsten.s@domain.com instead of cschmitt@domain.com)
Now I've 3000 Users having that specific alias.
Some do have carsten.s3@domain.com etc.
Can someone please tell me how to get rid of this in an automated way?
Thank you very much!
Kind regards,
Carsten

Hello
We are doing a migration from 2007 sp3 to 2013 sp1. Currently webmail.domainname.com points to the 2007 side for EAS,OWA and Outlook Anywhere. We are getting ready to move webmail.domainname.com to point to the 2013 CAS servers. We recently purchased a new cert, however webmail.domainname.com is NOT the principal name in the cert, its a SAN name in the cert. Knowing that the webmail.domainame.com is a SAN name in the cert and not a principal name, is this going to prevent outlook anywhere and OWA clients from being able to connect? Will i need to change the outlook provider to match the princiapl name in the cert once the new cert is imported?
Thanks

Dears,
I have a domain users (x.local) and 5 accepted domains (a.com, b.com, c.com, d.com, e.net) all of users have mail boxes, I need to configure a permission for some of them to restrict sending and receiving e-mails to external domains, means they can send and rec. only from specific internal accepted domains

Hi All,
My situation is as follows, I would like to create a report that will provide me with a list of mailbox calendars where a specific user has permissions and what permissions they have. A simple task, but one that keeps delivering me a roadblock. I haven't started the second part as I keep hitting this wall. Thanks
Good afternoon
I am operating a two server Exchange 2013 environment with both servers being members of a DAG.
The two systems are installed on 2U 4 servers system that utilises some shared hardware. I need to replace some RAID controller batteries and basically the whole thing is going to have to be turned off and so I cannot put each server into maintenance mode in turn to perform the upgrades.
Is there anything special I need to do to or can I just shutdown the two Exchange servers? I understand there may be some mail loss during the downtime (although hopefully not as it will be a short time and SMTP obviously has retry built into the protocol).
Another thing to note is that the FSW for the DAG is also installed in this 4 server system and that will obviously be offline during the downtime period too.
Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
